The fichu dates back to 1878 when Edouard Manet painted “ Portrait of a Lady with Black Fichu ”. It was known as Manet's “ Modern Mona Lisa ”. Defined in the dictionary as “ a three-cornered lace or muslin cape worn over the shoulders by women ”, our feather-like, lacey accent softens any neckline and compliments everything you wear! Here are some personal thoughts from Laurie, owner of It's a Fichu. “I choose each fichu creation as I do painting my favorite flower on a
canvas. Choosing each color and texture, experimenting with the size and gauge are challenging. Each fichu is unique. The pattern is my own technique. The end result is a delicate fashion accent, like the WINGS OF ANGELS, handmade with love and joy!”
